Equipment suppliers that offer Network Elements (NEs) and Operations Systems (OSs) to service providers must be certain their products interoperate with the various providers' embedded Operations Support Systems (OSSs). Many of these OSSs have been developed by Telcordia, and support automated flowthrough (or "hands off") provisioning of services. Flowthrough support is especially important to large service providers, because it allows them to provide services more cost-effectively and on a high volume basis.
Suppliers can increase sales to the major services providers by requesting that Telcordia-developed heritage and next-generation network OSSs be modified to ensure compatibility with their products, or by having new Telcordia OSS capabilities be developed to accelerate availability of new NE features and functionality. To facilitate the modification process, Telcordia has developed OSMINE Services, which provide a strategic framework for analyzing, monitoring and integrating Telcordia OSSs with network elements, thus allowing them to operate as a single, cohesive system.
Our OSS Network Integration Services also include Generic Feature Development Services (GFDS), a customization process to provide functionality generically applicable to multiple NEs across different equipment suppliers. Based on an innovative cost model, these services allow suppliers to realize cost savings through cost sharing of the development and integration effort.
