Building Standards and Codes, Fire Safety

The Telcordia Building Standards and Codes, Fire Safety project has surveyed and shaped the unique terrain of communications facility fire protection over the last 25 years. We offer a broad range of fire protection consulting services, including representation in the National code change process, code and standards interpretations, fire protection forums with our clients, and services that can be tailored to your company's unique needs

Indoor Air Quality

Don’t underestimate how the environment audits, both inside and outside your facilities, can affect the performance of your equipment and workers, and can ultimately lead to serious failures. We have detailed knowledge of indoor air quality issues as they impact human health and comfort, as well as electronic equipment performance.

NEBS Airborne Contaminants

Our Generic Requirements' document, "Network Equipment-Building System (NEBS) Requirements: Physical Protection" (GR-63-CORE), contains environmental criteria that new network equipment must meet to be deemed suitable for use in a telecommunications network. We provide testing and consulting services related to these requirements to both supplier and service providers.

Network and System Reliability Services

Telcordia provides reliability consulting services for a wide variety of central office, transport, and outside plant network equipment, as well as for products that provide data and video. Risk management experts can assess the reliability of your network by performing a Network Integrity Review. With the help of our proprietary NetRisk® tool, it is possible to apply our reliability prediction model to your network to quantify your hardware reliability risk, information critical to the development of Service Level Agreements (SLA). Our experts also assess the effectiveness of your processes and operations, review the engineering of telecommunications systems to assure that the designed-in reliability was carried through during manufacturing and installation, and quantify your customer-perceived reliability -- a key to customer retention and critical for the successful introduction of new services. It is fundamental to know the reliability of both your end-to-end network and individual elements in order to plan appropriate, cost-effective reliability enhancements.
