Telcordia® Total Network Data Systems/Trunking

Carriers throughout the industry rely on our Total Network Data Systems (TNDS) solution to manage the trunking component of the PSTN. It optimizes network performance by using sophisticated criteria to identify under-provisioned and over-provisioned areas of the network.

A robust PSTN performance solution with these components:

  • The Trunk Servicing System uses traffic data collected from the switch to measure the actual performance of the trunking network against user-defined objectives. If objectives are not being met, the system calculates the trunking capacity required to meet objectives.
  • The Trunk Forecasting System uses historical data developed by The Trunk Servicing System, along with growth and planning data, to develop five-year forecasts of trunking requirements. These forecasts are sent to downstream systems to support long-range planning.
  • The Trunking Database stores the switch, trunk group, network configuration, and engineering data needed for decision analysis and PSTN administration and engineering.

Our Total Network Data Systems/Trunking solution integrates three advanced sub-systems to engineer and administer the trunking component of the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN). Using Quality of Service and economic criteria, its hierarchical network model maximizes network performance by identifying under-provisioned areas that could cause service problems and over-provisioned areas that represent unused facilities.
