Telcordia® TIRKS® CE

TIRKS CE is known throughout the telecom industry as a powerful inventory record-keeping and provisioning system for interoffice trunk facilities. Independent system integrators and developers may be interested in the TIRKS CE Application Program Interface (API). Smaller companies may wish to find out about Telcordia® Granite Inventory, another centralized network inventory management tool.

Makes record-keeping and assignment of central office equipment and interoffice facilities an efficient, flowthrough process by:

OSS Observer puts Telcordia #1
in Fulfillment, Inventory, Order Management
  • Significantly reducing manual intervention and analysis time associated with provisioning
  • Enabling efficient planning and use of interoffice facilities
  • Allowing more cost-effective ordering and inventorying of equipment in multi-vendor environments
  • Interfacing with other systems involved in backbone network provisioning

The TIRKS CE system is an inventory and provisioning system that allows operators to achieve flowthrough provisioning for the backbone network within a single, integrated operational environment. This is a proven system that continues to evolve to provide faster introduction of new technologies, services, and equipment, and to support provisioning for all types of circuit activity, including add, modify, or remove. Provisioning work orders may be generated through an open contractual interface or service order processor, or entered directly into TIRKS CE.

Our system supports SONET networks, deferred common plug-ins, and multi-point bridges, storing detailed records and related assignments for terminating, signaling, and trunk-side switching equipment and interoffice facilities.

It also greatly facilitates circuit design by storing equipment reference specifications and options in its inventory catalog. Users can then access its tools for selecting facility and equipment components, and assembling them into a circuit design based on customized parameters. The result is a circuit details record that shows the complete, end-to-end circuit design.
