Telcordia® Loop Facilities Assignment and Control System CE (LFACS CE)
LFACS CE automates inventory management and assignment of subscriber access facilities for a full range of technologies, including copper-based loops, modern digital loop carrier systems, DSLAMs, and passive optical networks.
Promotes reliable, cost-saving flowthrough operations by:
- Managing network assignment for a wide range of services, including single and multi-party voice, ISDN, DSL, Internet, video, and private line
- Following user-tunable assignment rules, inventory characterization, and process control parameters
- Dynamically assigning circuits to help ensure that facilities are always available for new requests
This robust system maintains up-to-date inventory records for all outside plant facilities, including physical cables and pairs (copper and fiber), digital loop carrier facilities, fiber-in-the-loop systems, terminals (distribution and cross-box), and customer service locations. In response to customer service requests, it selects access facilities based on available equipment, and automatically reassigns facilities to accommodate maintenance and engineering activities. It even creates work sheets with clear instructions for manual and automatic network activation functions.
LFACS CE also supports address management and provides a single address source for both Service Negotiation and Service Provisioning. LFACS CE provides a master address database for the Street Address Guide (SAG) and the living unit data. It also provides address validation, a variety of address matching algorithms and searches, and facility availability in support of Service Negotiation.
