Telcordia® Intelligent Service Peripheral

This intelligent peripheral platform communicates with your service control point to enrich IN services with advanced calling features that can be customized for individual end-users.

Widely deployed throughout the US and Canada because of its ability to:

  • Support open interfaces for message exchange with a service control point either directly through a SCP interface or through a Service Switching Point
  • Provide basic functions, such as digit collection and verification, as well as an extensive library of building blocks (PlayApps) for complex services such as call leg manipulation, caller hold/queuing, and call monitoring
  • Configure to originate and terminate calls and support Non Call-Associated Signaling (NCAS)
  • Provide carrier-grade reliability with NEBS-certified components, no single point of failure, and redundant call processors for automatic fail-over and recovery
  • Scale easily, thanks to voice peripherals that can be increased from two to ten per system

The Intelligent Services Peripheral is a real-time, high-availability network system that provides service enhancements, such as customized voice announcements, conferencing, digit collection, Call Privacy, Find Me/Follow Me, and Talking Call Waiting. It is designed to communicate with Intelligent Network (IN) service control points. The service logic stored in the service control point accesses the resources within the peripheral to extend service capabilities. The peripheral also supports easy interaction between a user and the network.
