Assign and Design Web-service

Providing automated service provisioning and assignment functions to service providers.

Our Assign and Design adjunct tool organizes operations that provide life-cycle management of network circuits and service paths into an extensible and configurable application which works with our Granite Inventory middle tier. Using Assign and Design you can:

• Rapidly develop your own robust provisioning logic in a consistent manner making full use of existing Granite Inventory functionality and flexibility
• Achieve full control of, and flexibility in, provisioning methods and models through a customizable, configurable and extensible SOA service structure
• Make the Assign and Design capability available to external applications using Web-services

Assign and Design also makes our best provisioning practices available to all users, across all technology domains. Complete provisioning operations and technology-driven assignments are supported through the normal life-cycle of circuits and services - build, change, complete, cancel, and rework. Provisioning data reflects up-to-the-minute pending corrections and changes.

Available with Granite Inventory as a Web-service, using Assign and Design saves you the time and cost of integrating the assign/design functionality into your OSS architecture. Assign and Design provides reusable components for simplified customization and configuration. In addition, it supports any new assignment operation through the development of additional "plug-ins". Types of plug-in that you can easily develop and deploy include:

• Element Plug-in - Models the basic network elements or IT application assets within any domain including CPE, copper loops, ATM networks, router networks, VoIP, or IPTV
• Path Composition Plug-in - Provides a set of sequence calls to Element Plug-ins to select/assign the appropriate circuit or service elements. This enables the building of any required circuit or service "path" on-the-fly

Assign and Design comes with an Administrative GUI, a User GUI, and a set of standard APIs that allow customers or systems integrators to build their own GUI or use the application with any OSS system such as Telcordia® Expediter for order management.
