Telcordia Takes Up uTelco Challenge at Hydro One
PISCATAWAY, NJ - October 26, 2009 - Telcordia (www.telcordia.com) today announced that Hydro One Telecom Inc., a Canadian provider of broadband telecommunications services to carriers, large enterprises and Internet Service Providers (ISPs), is expanding its existing Telcordia solution to increase network management efficiency across all of its networks. Telcordia is a recognized leader in next generation operations support solutions for wireline, wireless, cable and utility networks.
The upgrades provide Hydro One Telecom with a single, comprehensive resource for modeling and capacity planning across all of its data networks, improving its service to customers and its parent company, Hydro One.

Since 2002, Hydro One Telecom has used Telcordia® Network Engineer to provide geospatial network management for the company's fiber-optic network, as well as Telcordia® Common Language® Information Services. In addition, Telcordia® Granite Inventory was deployed in 2003 to meet the increased demands of network inventory management and in 2005 the network asset discovery and reconciliation feature was added for further improvements to data accuracy. This latest expansion sees Hydro One upgrading to the latest version of Telcordia Granite Inventory, which includes enhanced data visualization capabilities.
