Telcordia To Address Mobile Number Portability
At Pakistan Industry Event

ISLAMABAD, PAKISTAN AND PISCATAWAY, NJ - August 13, 2007 - Telcordia, a global leader in the development of IP, wireless, and mobile telecommunication software and services, today announced that Bryan Mordecai, senior director of market management for Telcordia, will give two presentations at Implementing Mobile Number Portability, which will take place August 22-24, 2007 in Islamabad, Pakistan.

Mordecai will give a detailed overview of database concepts, including database solution types, interfacing with operators and interoperability requirements. "Mobile number portability delivers significant choice and convenience to Pakistani consumers and businesses, and Telcordia has an established track record of success in deploying the technology around the globe," said Mordecai. "Telcordia is committed to ongoing support of the number portability solution for Pakistan's operators and consumers."

In 1994, Telcordia became the first company to introduce number portability, with its solutions currently deployed in nine countries, including United States, Canada, Egypt, Greece, Lithuania, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Oman, and South Africa. Telcordia is the number one provider of number portability solutions, processing millions of transactions annually for more than 180 service providers serving fixed and mobile subscribers. In March 2007, mobile number portability was launched in Pakistan by the Pakistan MNP Database using the Telcordia® Number Portability Clearinghouse solution as the centralized repository for number porting. Three mobile phone service providers in Pakistan selected Telcordia for their number portability gateway needs to integrate with their IT and network environments.

Implementing Mobile Number Portability is organized jointly by The Telecommunication Development Bureau of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA), and will gather policy makers, regulators and service providers for interactive presentations, workshops and discussions focused on preparing for the rollout of mobile number portability.
