Telcordia MVNE Momentum Continues;
Company Powers new US-based KDDI America MVNO
PISCATAWAY, NJ - June 25, 2007 - Telcordia Technologies (www.telcordia.com), the leading global provider of telecommunications software and services, has today announced that it has enabled KDDI America, Inc. (www.kddimobile.com), a wholly owned subsidiary of KDDI Corporation, the largest international telecommunications company in Japan, to launch a MVNO that offers unparalleled choice of prepaid services and tariffs targeted to Japanese communities in the United States.
KDDI America will be relying on the Telcordia Hosted Solution for MVNOs, which offers high-quality, pre-paid and post-paid wireless services without having to own or manage a network. KDDI America will specifically be providing a real-time pre-paid service that includes flexible rates on calls to and from Japan. Telcordia has a unique MVNE heritage and has driven the launch of numerous MVNOs including Virgin Mobile USA, Kajeet, Disney Mobile and Flying J, based on its ability to lower the entry barrier and speed time to market in the dynamic business segments which are vital to the success of MVNOs.
KDDI America will benefit from expanded geographical reach and rapid time to market in the United States, coupled with lowered cost of entry and Telcordia's capability to provide sophisticated rating that opens up a spectrum of tariffs that offers KDDI America subscribers exceptional choice.
