As the worlds of information, communication and media converge, consumers and businesses are increasingly demanding real time sophisticated services on a global scale. The ability of service providers to satisfy these needs in a timely, accurate and cost effective manner rests upon their ability to instantly and securely share accurate information, both internally and with their ecosystem partners.
This webinar will present a strategic approach to the need for accurate, secure information as an enabler of service delivery and management across equipment manufacturer, service provider and content provider boundaries. The advantages of an industry-wide, centralized, information infrastructure providing a managed approach to information definition, management and delivery will be presented.
Our first speaker Colin Orviss, Owner and Co-Founder, Logan-Orviss International will discuss how evolving technologies, market liberalization and convergence are changing customer requirements and raising the strategic importance of sharing accurate, timely and secure information across service providers while enabling operational efficiency, rapid service delivery and customer satisfaction. Colin will detail the business drivers motivating the industry to address the need for a single information infrastructure, including decreasing time to market for new service introduction, streamlining the network supply chain and reducing cost of service delivery and support. The presentation will emphasize the increased importance of data sharing across service provider and supplier boundaries as services become more sophisticated, globalized and on-demand.
Allen Seidman, VP Business Development & Marketing, and Executive Director of Product Management at Telcordia Technologies and Andreas Pfingsten, Global Solution Manager, Communications Industry Business Unit, SAP will explain the idea of a shared information infrastructure. This shared presentation will focus on critical considerations in designing an information infrastructure not just for a single service provider, but for the entire telecom industry. Presenters will discuss considerations including: the relationship of such an infrastructure to industry standards, the implementation of active registries or clearinghouses to support inter-company communication, the use of standardized data structures and nomenclature (language) and the need to drive this infrastructure into BSS/OSS.
Presenters from Telcordia and SAP will discuss their real world experiences implementing information infrastructures in the telecom and other industries. They will present value propositions, industry trends and a vision for the future. They will discuss the need for a well-defined master data management (MDM) solution and how MDM can complete a broad industry wide information infrastructure.
