2007

  • The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the world's largest technical professional association, has presented Dr. Adam Drobot, CTO and President of Advanced Technology Solutions, with its 2007 Managerial Excellence Award. This award recognizes Dr. Drobot's leadership excellence in managing innovative research and development in telecommunications.

2003

  • Dr. W. David Sincoskie, Group Senior VP, Network Systems Research, received the 2003 Fred W. Ellersick Prize from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Communications Society for best Communications Magazine Paper of 2002.
  • Dr. Kenneth J. Kerpez, senior scientist, Telcordia Technologies, named a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc. (IEEE). As a leading scientist for Telcordia's Broadband Access and Premises Internetworking Division, Dr. Kerpez was recognized as an IEEE Fellow for his significant contributions to digital subscriber line (DSL) technology and standards.
  • Granite Systems is recognized by Deloitte & Touche as one of the 50 fastest growing technology companies in the New England region, and one of the 500 fastest growing technology companies in North America for the fifth consecutive year.

2002

  • Telcordia Technologies receives R&D Magazine's 40th anniversary R&D 100 Award for the company's Asymmetric Hybrid Supercapacitor technology. Winners of this prestigious award are chosen each year by a panel of more than 70 industry experts. They identify the 100 most technologically significant products and processes introduced in the previous year. Telcordia Technologies is the recipient of 14 previous R&D Magazine top 100 awards.
  • Dave Sincoskie named to National Academy of Engineering. Membership in the NAE is the highest professional honor an engineer can receive.
  • 2002 DARPA Performance Awards won by Ken Young.
  • DARPA Experimentation Pioneer Award to Applied Research team for Smart Firewalls, automated policy-based security management for enterprises.
  • Granite Systems is named, for the third year in a row, as one of America's entrepreneurial growth leaders by Inc magazine in its 2002 Inc 500 ranking of the nation's fastest-growing private companies.
  • Granite Systems' Founder John E. P. (Jay) Borden named Ernst & Young's 2002 New England Entrepreneur of the Year™ in the software category.
  • Granite Systems' Xpercom named "Best Overall OSS Product" by the TeleStrategies' OSS Excellence Award panel of industry experts.

2001

  • Telcordia Technologies Network Configuration Manager Awarded Infovision Award. Network Configuration Manager enables automated management of network, circuit, service and facility configurations.
  • Telcordia Technologies, Inc. awarded an Innovation Award from TMC Labs for the Telcordia™ Call Agent, its CLASS 5 softswitch. TMC Labs Innovation Awards are granted to products that demonstrate raw innovation and uniqueness while significantly contributing to the telecommunications industry..
  • Telcordia receives MOSAIC award from CECOM (U.S. Army).
  • Antoni (Tony) S. Gozdz receives the Thomas Alva Edison Patent Award in Energy Innovation.
  • Granite Systems receives the InfoVision Award for Computer Software from the International Engineering Consortium (IEC) at the National Communications Forum 2001.

2000

  • Telcordia™ Service Level Manager is awarded the International Engineering Consortium's (IEC) InfoVision Award.
  • Josephine Micallef receives YWCA's Tribute to Women and Industry (TWIN) Award
  • Granite Systems' John Borden, founder and CEO of Granite Systems, selected as New Hampshire High Technology Council Entrepreneur of the Year 2000.

1999

  • Telcordia Technologies receives R&D Magazine's R&D 100 Award for the company's AutoAuditorium. Winners of this prestigious award are chosen each year by a panel of more than 70 industry experts. They identify the 100 most technologically significant products and processes introduced in the previous year.

1997

  • Receives InfoVision 97 Award
  • CEO George H. Heilmeier wins John Scott Award
  • Receives Information Technology Association of America (ITAA) 2000 Certification, the industry's century date change certification program.
  • Researchers Richard C.L. Lau and Tsong Ho Wu were inducted into the New Jersey Inventors Hall of Fame, the sixth and seventh Bellcore researchers recognized with this award. The Hall of Fame annually elects members who have contributed significant inventions from the state of New Jersey.
  • Richard Lipton was elected a fellow of the Association for Computing Machinery for "Sustained excellence in research in virtually every aspect of theoretical computer science. He has produced some of the most influential work in the field."

1996

  • Telcordia Technologies receives R&D Magazine's R&D 100 Awards for the company's Personal Presence System and Network Access Module. Winners of this prestigious award are chosen each year by a panel of more than 70 industry experts.   • Sam Weerahandi receives The ASA Fellow Award. With this award, the American Statistical Association recognizes full members of established reputation who have made outstanding contributions in some aspect of statistical work.

1995

  • Applied Research Vice President Robert W. Lucky was awarded the IEEE Edison Medal in 1995 "For an extraordinary career in telecommunications providing visionary technical leadership, support of his profession, and compelling public advocacy of technology."
  • Telcordia Technologies receives R&D Magazine's R&D 100 Award for the company's Plastic Rechargeable Lithium-Ion Battery. Winners of this prestigious award are chosen each year by a panel of more than 70 industry experts.   • Nim Cheung received the IEEE Fellow Award. This prestigious award is given in recognition of the excellence among members of the IEEE in the advancement of the theory and practice of electrical and electronics engineering.

  • Telcordia Technologies receives R&D Magazine's R&D 100 Awards for the company's Electronic Panning Camera and Wavelength Tunable Liquid Crystal Filter.   • Donald Cox, Executive Director of Radio Research, wins the 1993 IEEE Alexander Graham Bell Medal for pioneering and leadership in personal portable communications.

1992

  • Researchers Stuart Haber and Scott Stornetta won the 1992 Discover Magazine Award for Technological Innovation in the Computer Software category for an advance in digital time stamping, using cryptography to attach a time stamp to a digital document which certifies that the document existed prior to the stated time and has not since been modified.
  • Telcordia Technologies receives four R&D Magazine's R&D 100 Awards for the company's Hydrogen Chloride Gas Sensor, Integrated Acousto-Optic Filter, Oblique Fiber endface cleaving tool, and SPACE Service Creation System.   • Joe Rizzo was inducted into the New Jersey Inventors Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame annually elects members who have contributed significant inventions from the state of New Jersey.

Winners of this prestigious award are chosen each year by a panel of more than 70 industry experts.   • Sid Dalal receives The ASA Fellow Award. With this award, the American Statistical Association recognizes full members of established reputation who have made outstanding contributions in some aspect of statistical work.
  • Receives NJ Governor's Award for Pollution Prevention with its "Purple People Eater" recycling program.

Academy of Arts and Sciences

The American Academy of Arts and Sciences is an honorary learned society whose members are elected for distinction and achievement in the entire range of the intellectual disciplines and professions.

National Academy of Engineering (NAE)

Membership in the NAE is the highest professional honor an engineer can receive. Association of Computing Machinery (ACM)

The ACM Fellow program was established in 1993 to recognize and honor outstanding ACM members for their achievements in computer science and information technology, and for their significant contributions to the mission of the ACM. An ACM Fellow serves as a distinguished colleague to whom the ACM and its members look for guidance and leadership as the world of information technology evolves.
