Awards and Honors
We're leading the way
Telcordia researchers and developers have been internationally recognized as leaders in their fields. Our researchers have chaired an FCC Technical and Advisory Committee and an OIF Operations, Administration, Maintenance and Provisioning Working Group. We were one of the founding members of the OSS-through-Java (OSS/J) initiative.
We also publish regularly in leading journals such as the Journals of ACM and IEEE.
Currently, we have members in the National Academy of Engineering and the Academy of Arts & Sciences as well as several IEEE, ACM, ASA, APS, and Guggenheim Fellows. More than just academic experts, our world class staff is actively involved with our client base, often in joint engagements that bring our clients' staff on-site at Telcordia to ensure intense research and client-driven results.
Since 1990, our inventions have appeared 14 times on Research & Development Magazine's annual list of top 100 inventions of the year.
Over the years we've also received a number of awards. In 2002, we received the DARPA Experimentation Pioneer Award for Smart Firewalls. We also received the 2003 IEEE Communications Society Fred W. Ellersick Prize and the Baker Prize.
The Telcordia Fellow Award was established in the early 1990's to recognize our company's most exceptional employees. Recipients of this prestigious award have distinguished themselves by achieving excellence through a single, extraordinary accomplishment and/or a sustained record of professional or technical achievement.
